Creative cutting was a new form of pattern drafting. Creating unique shapes on the figure using techniques such as Moulage, Modelling and pattern blocks. This new range of pattern drafting skills enabled me to fully understand fabric composition, grainlines and bias cutting.

I began looking at specific designers who created amazing silhouettes with their garments. Delpozo SS17 inspired me with their heavy weight bows and exaggerated peplums. Excited by the unusual shapes, I was keen to try and recreate one of their looks.

I began to test out many of different sculptural experiments, gaining a greater understanding of how different fabrics will hold form.

Each garment I created had different fabric weight and composition, which taught me many new skills, regarding handling and sewing the separate fabrics.
